Island Logic • About the Guide

How this Karpathos guide is built

Karpathos App is an independent island guide built to make Karpathos more manageable before arrival: Pigadia as the main anchor, the east-west split of beaches, the long northern route toward Olympos and Diafani, and the wind logic that changes the island more than a simple distance map suggests.

What shapes this guide

1

We treat Karpathos as a long island, not as one compact beach zone

Pigadia, Amoopi, the eastern icons, Lefkos and the northern villages do not belong to the same easy day. The guide keeps distance and geography visible so the island does not get flattened into an unrealistic checklist.

2

Wind logic is part of the core product, not a side note

Karpathos can change dramatically when the wind changes. That is why beach choice, side-of-island choice and even base choice are written with weather exposure in mind rather than as fixed static rankings.

3

Pigadia is the practical anchor, not the whole island

Pigadia matters because it opens services, first orientation and easier arrival logic, but the guide tries to stop travelers from confusing the main base with the whole identity of Karpathos.

4

Olympos and Diafani are treated as a true northern chapter

The north is one of the island's defining experiences, but it deserves its own route logic because of terrain, distance and time. A guide that treats it as a casual add-on usually misreads Karpathos.

5

Recommendations remain editorial judgments

Suggestions for beaches, bases and route order are editorial decisions about what helps travelers read Karpathos more truthfully. A commercial relationship does not automatically create a recommended position in the guide.

6

Useful corrections are specific and local

Changed access, weaker quality, a wind-exposed stop that is no longer a sound recommendation or a route sequence that now reads badly on the ground are the kinds of updates that genuinely improve the guide.
